Katy is an environmental scientist with post graduate qualifications in energy and carbon. After graduating she spent two years working on large scale coral reef restoration projects in the Philippines and the Great Barrier Reef. These projects developed innovative new techniques to enable the mass culture of coral larvae, enhance reef resilience and support coral reef fisheries. Through this work Katy developed strong analytical and project management skills and gained experience in community engagement.
After witnessing the severe coral bleaching events of 2016/17 Katy became increasingly passionate about climate change and returned to university to study renewable energy and carbon accounting. This led to a role at an energy procurement company conducting electricity market analysis including wholesale and futures markets and has provided Katy with a strong understanding of the Australian stationary energy landscape.
Katy’s diverse background has allowed her to contribute to a variety of projects since joining Point Advisory. These have included broad sustainability strategy and reporting, energy audits and carbon accounting/GHG inventory for government and corporate clients.
Katy holds an Environmental Science degree with First Class Honours and a Graduate Certificate in Energy and Carbon Studies.
Outside of work Katy loves being outdoors and enjoys skiing, sailing and hiking.
