NGER audits

Our team includes several Registered Greenhouse and Energy Auditors with the Clean Energy Regulator, who have experience providing National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) assurance services to clients from practically all sectors of the Australian economy – from electricity generation, mining and chemicals manufacturing through to waste, banking and property.

Our unique mix of technical engineering and structured assurance expertise means we have a deep understanding of the NGER emissions calculation methodologies, and a well-developed audit framework to manage and structure our assurance engagements.

Climate Solutions Fund audits

Our team includes several Registered Greenhouse and Energy Auditors with the Clean Energy Regulator, who are qualified to sign off on audits of emissions reduction projects under the Climate Solutions Fund (CSF), previously called the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF).

We have provided audits for some of the largest CSF project proponents in the country across a wide range of methodologies including:

Human-induced regeneration
Avoided deforestation
Landfill gas
Waste coal mine gas
Industrial electrical and fuel efficiency.

Renewable Energy Target audits

Our team includes several Registered Greenhouse and Energy Auditors with the Clean Energy Regulator, who have experience providing Exemption Certificate audits for emissions intensive trade exposed (EITE) energy users. These audits enable clients to be exempted from liabilities under the Renewable Energy Target (RET) for any ‘relevant’ EITE products they manufacture. We have specific experience auditing under the new ‘electricity use’ method for calculating the exemption amount.

Our unique mix of technical engineering, regulatory and structured assurance expertise means we have a deep understanding of the relevant RET legislation, and a well-developed audit framework to manage and structure our assurance engagements.

Sustainability report assurance

To improve the credibility and trust of clients’ sustainability-related disclosures, we provide independent sustainability report assurance, demonstrating to stakeholders that the disclosures are a true and fair reflection of performance. We use our experience us to adapt the assurance process to our clients’ needs and level of maturity in sustainability management and reporting. This includes pre-assurance, supporting Internal Audit teams, basic assurance of select data, and up to assurance of the full suite of ‘non-financial statement’ disclosures. We are a licensed provider under AA1000 AccountAbility Principles and series of standards, apply the ASAE3000 standard for data assurance, and apply the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards. We also assess the effectiveness of your approach to sustainability and responsiveness to the topics that are most material to the organisation and its stakeholders.

Responsible investment assurance

We have practical and varied experience working within and across the Responsible Investment industry. This allows us to support the industry with their specialised assurance needs, including these two areas:

PRI Transparency Report Assurance - Signatories to the Principles for Responsible Investment are required to report publicly on their responsible investment activities each year. We provide external assurance is against the PRI’s Reporting Framework and this is considered by PRI as the highest level and credible confidence-building measure that reporting organisations can adopt.
Responsible Investment Product Certification - We are an Independent Verification Panel Partner of the Responsible Investment Association Australasia Product Certification Program. Certified products and providers are featured on the Responsible Returns online tool, connecting consumers who care about responsible and ethical investing to find products and providers that match their investment beliefs and personal values.

Infrastructure project certification

Our team includes accredited verifiers to the Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) Rating Scheme. The Scheme is Australia and New Zealand’s only comprehensive rating system for evaluating sustainability across the planning, design, construction and operational phases of infrastructure programs, projects, networks, and assets.

IS evaluates the sustainability performance of the quadruple bottom line (Governance, Economic, Environmental and Social) of infrastructure development. We operate as verifiers to support project proponents in obtaining IS Certification.
