Naresh has recently joined our Melbourne office as Consultant- Energy & Climate Change.
As an internationally Certified Energy Manager (CEM), accredited by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), Naresh has close to 10 years of experience from upstream to downstream across the energy sector. On the upstream, as a professional mechanical engineer, assessed by Engineers Australia, he worked for close to 8 years in various departments namely, commissioning, maintenance and operations of large-scale coal & gas fired power stations (100 to 300 MW).
With a passion for renewables, sustainability and climate change, Naresh transitioned his career by successfully completing Master’s degree (Electrical & Renewable Energy) from Deakin University, where his final year project focused on developing protection schemes for Microgrids.
On the downstream of energy sector, Naresh got trained and certified in Energy Auditing (AS/NZS:3598) accredited by Energy Efficiency Council (EEC) and has been working in audits and compliance space for industrial and commercial energy upgrades under the Victorian Energy Upgrade (VEU) program. He also brings with him an acumen for analysing and developing strategies for implementing energy management systems as per ISO:50001.
With his real-time, hands-on experience in large scale energy systems and desire to achieve academic excellence, Naresh is also currently a second year PhD candidate in Energy Economics at Deakin University. His research focuses on building econometric model for long-term energy demand forecasting for Australia’s National Electricity Market.
Outside his professional and academic commitments, Naresh enjoys playing tennis, hiking and mountain biking. His secret talent is Bollywood dance !
