The Future of Carbon Offsets in the lead up to COP 21.
On 11 November, Point Advisory hosted a full-house panel discussion event on the future of carbon offsets in the lead up to COP21 in Paris.
After hearing from Peter Castellas – CEO of the Carbon Market Institute, Christophe Brulliard – Principal Economist at Point Advisory and Kent Broad – Executive Director, at Carbon Neutral, an animated discussion covered a range of topics. The role of carbon offsets in the domestic market, the second ERF auction, and political developments leading up to Paris COP21 were canvassed.
The significance of co-benefits in the design and management of carbon offset projects was explored, as were the challenges in effectively integrating social and environmental values into long term policy thinking.
Point Advisory would like to thank our Partners Carbon Neutral and the Carbon Market Institute, our event sponsor Taylor Wines, and all participants for a great event.
We are looking to run a number of tailored events next year, so watch this space.
