Sustainability (GRI) Report Assurance

Case Study

Companies that produce Annual Sustainability Reports in line with the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) Standards, demonstrate a commitment to transparency and engagement with their key stakeholders.  Those that seek to lead and continuously improve their sustainability management practices obtain external assurance over their reporting.  Sustainability Report Assurance performed by an external and qualified party adds to the credibility and integrity of those disclosures, giving the highest governing body, senior management and external stakeholders the confidence they need to make informed decisions about the company.

Landcom NSW has long had a commitment to leadership in sustainability, setting an example for property developers operating in the state and across Australia. Since 2018, Point Advisory has provided Landcom with a range of external assurance services. We provide moderate level (AA1000AS) assurance over Landcom’s Sustainability Report of Landcom and limited assurance over selected metrics. To ensure alignment with the GRI Standards, our work includes an independent review of Landcom’s GRI adherence level. We also provide limited assurance over the non-financial information contained within Landcom’s Annual Report, using Australian Standard on Assurance Engagements Other Than Audits or Reviews of Historical Financial Information. This helps ensure the full suite of annual disclosures on non-financial and sustainability information is a true and fair reflection of Landcom’s performance.
