Origin’s Head of Procurement was given carriage of leading the company’s compliance with Australia’s Modern Slavery Act and was seeking assistance in preparing the organisation in meeting its obligations.

Point Advisory was engaged by Origin to perform a business review with a view to help Origin meet its obligations and agree a company-wide Action Plan to drive a continuous improvement program.

Point Advisory conducted a Modern Slavery Readiness Assessment for Origin Energy. One of the outcomes for this project was a Point Advisory facilitated 1-day Modern Slavery workshop with Origin Energy representatives from procurement, commodities, people and culture and energy team. This workshop was also used to agree a Modern Slavery Action Plan for the organisation.

Origin continues to seek support from Point Advisory in relation to the implementation of its Modern Slavery Action Plan, and drafting support for the company’s first Modern Slavery Statement.
